Amy is influenced by artists such as Eva Cassidy, Katie Melua, Olivia Rodrigo, Tate McRae and Dua Lipa. Her passion for music blossomed through sharing special memories with her grandad, listening and singing along to CDs. From here, she attended singing lessons and trained in musical theatre: “I knew that I had such a love for singing and could put all my emotions into a song. I wrote my first song when I was 14.”
After delving into pop and country, Amy is now experimenting with pop/EDM and dance: “I’ve started to write my own dance songs and I recently wrote vocals for a house/techno track for a DJ.”

Here’s where ‘Change the Ending’ comes in - Amy’s first electronic/dance track, released in September this year. In just two days, the melody, lyrics and demo were all crafted from Amy’s bedroom: “I put all my emotions and how I was feeling over a situation with this person into the song and tried to make a personal experience into more relatable lyrics.” During the creation, she was inspired by one of her favourite DJs, Ben Hemsley known for his trance/synth style.
Despite Amy’s love for dance music, she admits she’s “a pop girl at heart.” This is showcased through her exploration of blending pop with a variety of styles. During the creative process, Amy pours her personal experiences into her songwriting: “It usually turns out to be about something I’m feeling in that moment or whatever is going on at that time in my life.”

Since recently picking up the keyboard, Amy experiments with chords before progressing onto writing a melody and lyrics. Although Amy finds it difficult to write from a more detached perspective, she aims for her songs to be as relatable as possible, resonating with her listeners.
In recent years, Amy has had the exciting experience of performing all across Scotland. However, it was this August that made an unforgettable mark when she took to the stage at King Tuts Summer Nights Festival: “I was supporting the incredible Róisín McCarney and it was just such a great, high energy, fun night… it was something I had always dreamed of, to perform on King Tuts stage.”
FORGIVE & FORGET Announcement
Next up for Amy includes the release of her new single, ‘FORGIVE & FORGET’ which is set to drop on the 6th December as well as an exciting spot at ButeFest 2025. Looking ahead, Amy aspires to write an album and embark on a UK tour: “Writing and performing my own music makes me so happy and I love every bit of the process.”
