Record Store Day which was due to take place on the rescheduled date of Saturday June 20th, will be further postponed. It will now be held around 3 new dates such as Saturday 29th August, Saturday 26th September and Saturday 24th October.

This is due to the everchanging uncertainty regarding the outbreak of COVID-19 which has forced the UK to go into lockdown.

Their approach of spreading the event over multiple months, is to provide support to as many independent record stores as possible, who have been forced to close their physical doors.

Their official website cites ‘RSD will be using the guidance of government and scientific experts to ensure these RSD Drop dates are as socially responsible and safe for all involved as possible.’

The organisation also warns the public, not to expect all previously planned celebrations and events due to safety regulations.

On Monday 1st June, an updated version of ‘The List’ will be appointed new release dates. For more information, head on over to the official Record Store Day website where you can also confirm which record stores are participating.

As a result, RSD are hoping to throw ‘the biggest party of the year’ on the third Saturday of April 2021.
