Stay For Tomorrow have released their new single, ‘Prison Living’, a captivating alt-rock song which shines light on the entrapment of a relationship.

The four piece band from Dunfermline take inspiration from the likes of Biffy Clyro, Twin Atlantic and the Foo Fighters. Formed in 2018, they first made a name for themselves in the Fife music scene with their debut track, 'Kings and Queens' in 2019.

Talking on ‘Prison Living’, Stay For Tomorrow reveal: “We wanted to dive deeper into talking about the struggles of a relationship rather than just the feelings of heartache that the aftermath brings. The song is about a couple who do not have the guts to end things whilst the resentment for each other grows every day.”

‘Prison Living’ begins atmospherically, building up into an energetic chorus with powerful drums.

The fiery guitar and bass is accompanied by lead singer, Joe who emotively sings: “I’ve been waiting to just fall out with you. Waiting for a time to separate us too. The skin that I'm in, where to begin? It's Prison Living.”

Joe continues into the second verse, venting, “I try to hide my scars, my stitches. The love I had now gone away.”

The poignant lyrics throughout grip the listener, reflecting on the lows of a damaging and complicated relationship. Whilst ‘Prison Living’ is written from a personal experience, the lyrics will speak to many who have gone through similar situations.

The mood heightens as the instruments intensify laying the grounds for an electrifying rock guitar solo which becomes the climax of the track. ‘Prison Living’ ends with the band passionately singing the last chorus which allows the listener to be fully emersed in the message of the song.
